Description
A rare example of 1970’s Amnion Triana pattern handmade stoneware in excellent vintage condition. This 5” diameter 5.5” tall pot has a blue vine ProvençalPattern on a white glaze. The pot is signed Amnion Hand-painted Triana on the bottom. I purchased this item at the San Francisco Gourmet Show in the early 1980’s. It’s been used for decor, and as a kitchen utensil holder. It’s in perfect condition- no chips, cracks. A tiny bit of crazing on the inner lip. The bottom of the pot is unglazed.
Amnion was founded by Guy-Stefan Romano, a Ph.D linguist and world traveler. After settling in Northern California, he began making Provençal style stoneware dishes, because the NorCal clay was similar to the clay in southern fFrance.
